DESCRIPTION This is a collection of articles and a few poems I've written over the last year or so for various reasons, often for my friends. Viewed together, they appear to have a common theme that might best be summarized with a poem whose last line explains the title of this book. We have unfortunately taken to heart the message of Oz"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" I hear the opposite, "Look! Look! Look and see!" Who feeds the flowers, who holds the sea? Where does each joy come from? "Incognito me." |

"To speak of joy, children might draw a picture of a lamb leaping in the grass. If you were the type who could make a lamb you could have the lamb do the leaping for you. What would you mean then if you had innumerable scenes of meeting and parting, of the necessity of individuals coming together before they can go forward with offspring, of spring of life after winter of death, of joy and of sorrow, of death that leads to life, the astonishment of beauty, the dangers and burdens of incredible tragedy and the hummings like a party always being prepared? Someone once asked Jesus who he was. He responded that the blind see,
the lame walk, the lepers were cured and the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and good news
was being preached to the poor. It was a sort of serendipitous ABCs." From chapter 2, The Science of Shadows.
